I live in Minnesota and is late November. The weather is about 24c over here and 32 is when ice starts to form. The lakes over here have a layer of ice on top but when is it safe to start actually ice fishing. I hear the rule is 4 inches, how can you tell? i walked on a little part of the lake near my house and it didn’t crack but i was scared to walk out any farther. I dont hear alot of people Ice fishing in November.

I live in a southern New England state that is considering putting a tax on fishing in Long Island Sound. This is outrageous. People fish for the sport, but primarily to get fresh fish and not pay over $8.00 per pound for it. Please give your opinion.

Hey Everyone!!

I’m level 37 fishing and i know that at level 40 you can start fishing for lobsters. However, people have told me not to start catching lobsters immediately at level 40 because they will go too slow.

So my question is, at what fishing level should i start catching lobsters so that they go pretty fast?

Also, what should i fish for to get to that level?

I am planning a luxury fly fishing retreat for 10 key customers. These people have the money to do whatever they want so we need to impress. I am very unfamiliar with fly fishing so would like some recommendations on the best locations to fish that have the most high end, luxury accommodations as well as engaging people to take the group out to fish. In addition, I would like to find a location that has a full service, high end spa for those who do not want to fish. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

As I understand it, at least in NC, you must have a fishing license if you are using artificial bait but you don’t have to have one if you use live bait. I can’t understand the reasoning. People have been feeding themselves and their families for all time by fishing. Being that there are more blue collar and lower-income people fishing for food to feed their families, how is this not the same as a tax on the poor?
